Literary e-clectic Submission Guidelines

Every issue of the Literary e-clectic is the same only different. Each quarter will have a different theme that the stories adhere to.  We don’t care if the stories are fiction or non-fiction or what type of genre that they may fall into. What we care about is having good stories. Here are the details:

Payment: $50 upon publication plus contributor copy of each issue in which your work appears.

Story Submissions: As we said above, the only two requirements for the content is that it falls under the quarterly theme and that it is between 2,000-8,000 words.

***On the last page of your submission, please include an author's bio as well as the author's reflection. The author's reflection offers your insight to the reader on how the story fits within the issue's theme.***

Themes and Submission Periods:
  • Summer 2017 Time Lost Accepting Submissions through May 31st.
  • Fall 2017 The Last Wish Accepting Submission through August 31st.
Simultaneous Submissions: Yes, we accept simultaneous submissions, but please inform us if your work has been accepted elsewhere.

Multiple Submissions: You may send up to two stories for each theme. Please submit the stories separately.

RightsWe ask for first serial rights to any story we publish. This means that the story should not have appeared anywhere else, either in print or online. (This includes publication on an author's own website.) When we publish a story, we ask for a brief period of exclusivity (usually six months), and the right to keep the story in print.

Response Time: We try to respond back within one month of the close of a reading period. If you’ve not heard from us by then, please drop us a note.
